The Asus NX90Jq is a fashionable laptop like the Dell Adamo. It is designed by Bang & Olufsen.

The laptop has a pretty funky, but unusual dual touchpads by the keyboard, which can be used in DJ turntable-like style, and is compatible with Windows 7′s multi-touch features It also has a 18.4inch hi-def display and also some B&O ICEpower speakers. It’s more than just looks though, it has the Intel Core i7 processor, a NVIDIA GeForce GT 334M graphics chip, support for up to 1280GB of storage (with dual hard drives), a slot-in Blu-ray drive and USB 3.0. This laptop is clearly going to be for people who want power, and also great looks. Hit the gallery at Engadget by clicking here.

Powermat updates.

The Droid is charging on a Powermat via a battery door!

Owners of HTC, Blackberry, Nokia, LG, Samsung, Motorola and Sony Ericsson phones no longer need Receiver cases or the powercube, now Powermat is offering up batteries which can be inserted into the back of the phone, and charge wirelessly just by sitting on a mat. If you still need a Receiver, they’re now offered in silicone.

They have also over hauled the Powermat line. They now have the Powermat 1X for one device, the Powermat 2X for two, and the powermat 3X for three devices. The line is also available in a portable version and  they come with a carrying case and international power plugs.

The final charging station is the Powermat 3X Netbook. This device will charge a netbook and 2 other devices. Car owners will be happy with the news of a Powermat Car Charger. No prices or availability available yet.

The trio of new products from Sling Media!

The Sling Monitor 150

Probably the best announcement made by Sling Media was the Sling Monitor 150. This is a 15.6 inch 720p Monitor which includes a wifi connect to the internet and pulls down streams from Sling devices in your home. It also lets you control and manage your DVR.

The only thing is that it is only available through partners. It is hoped to be launching first with the American satellite company Dish Networks.

Using items for uses other than their intended purpose!

I recently was clearing out my old bedroom and found a CD rack from IKEA that I got many years ago before I used an iPod. It isn’t very useful now because:

1) I don’t use CDs in my new bedroom because I have an iPod (old, but it works with a power cord!)

2) In the study I don’t need it because I have an alternative method of holding my CDs + over half are in wallets instead of cases or in larger boxes.

Now I can use it as a storage area on my desk for phones, gift cards, notes and more!

It makes a great alternative use to store all bits and pieces and keeps my desk tidy!

[Click on these images to make them get bigger - I've also labeled the second one.]

The iTablet

Apple have been rumored to announce a product in September and the iTablet is what a lot of people think it will be. Most people say it will have a 10 inch screen, run a slightly watered down version of Mac OS X, will also be an ebook reader and some even say it will have 3G and be able to run iPhone apps. Are you excited? I am! [Update: Running iPhone Apps probably won't happen. Anyway, Apple has had their event and not announced it. Check out the ModBook which already is a tablet Mac!]
