MSNBC takes over Breaking News Twitter Feed

Breaking News Twitter Feed, which was set up by 19 year old Michael van Poppel, was sold to Microsoft’s news channel MSNBC.

Michael said that he had set it up as a hobby to do in his spare time, with about 30,000 followers. It  then grew rapidly to over 1,500,000, getting about 3,000-4,000 more followers a day. They will no longer write Twitter updates, but provide a subscriber based news service, which is meant to launch in Jan 2010. It will focus on news in the US.

Modified Xbox Console Ban

Microsoft have banned about 1,000,000 users from the Xbox Live service for modifying their consoles to play pirated games. Continue reading after the break.

My New iMac

I have just bought a new 2.66 Ghz iMac, and will post the unboxing video soon, along with a review. As I have never used Mac OS X before, I am finding it a bit confusing! Anyway, I will be telling you more about that in the review.

Spotify to Become Social Network

The Spotify boss, Daniel Ek has revealed that under 10% of users are paying for music, dispite the spike in subscibers when the mobile app was released. He believes that there are enough users to make a social network be worthwhile. At the moment this is just an idea, but it may happen in the future.
