The Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid
So first we have the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid. It’s an interesting concept. It is a laptop with a 11.6inch detachable multitouch screen. When attached to the main body, it’s powered by a CULV Intel Core 2 Duo processor and runs Windows 7 Home Premium. However, when you detach it from the main body, it turns into a Qualcomm Snapdragon powered-multitouch slate with a 16GB SSD that boots Lenovo’s customized Skylight Linux interface.

While the Screen is detached.
According to Engadget (who got a hands on) the touch screen is pretty responsive even though it’s resistive. However they did say it’s not flawless and required double taps to make sure it registered. They also said that the on-screen keyboard is big enough for entering a URL here or there, but you’re not going to want to type an email on it. Apparently the viewing angles are terrible – and it basically disappears at 45 degree angle. Engadget has a run down on the software and more here.
Take a look at the detachable display here:

The Lenovo Skylight
So this netbook (which lenovo dosen’t want it to be called) has 10.1 inch display running at 1280 x 768. It has a customized version of linux, and runs on the 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which you’d typically find in smartphones. This might seem slow, but it does run linux and Lenovo promises it will be great for web-centric tasks. Wired says it’s keyboard is OK, but there is better, and the trackpad is solid and much wider and better than the MSI Wind.

The flip out USB Port.
The flip out USB Port lets you stick in a flash drive to expand the storage. I should also think you could also put in a mobile broadband dongle, if it fits?

Slim design.
Some more specs:
I’m not sure that people are going to go and rush out to by this netbook. However, it does look good!
