Tesco has started to offer the film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood prince on a Silverlight powered virtual DVD. The film can be downloaded with a code in the DVD from the Tesco online or in one of their stores. Tesco says it has the same quality of footage as the DVD itself.
The only problem with this new system is the decision to use Silverlight, ruling out many types of phone, Linux computers and Power-PC Macs. However Windows based machines and Intel Macs will work with the Microsoft Silverlight plugin.
